When Pete the Purple Flying Pig meets a digging dog called Doug, he was burying a bone at the beach.
Like Pete the Purple Flying Pig - Doug the digging dog could fly! He flapped his ears, spun his tail and took off like a helicopter. He could loop the loop, and flap a fugure of eight. He could do a cool kamakaze dive.
Pete was very impressed. Pete and Doug flew around the world. 'Just for fun' Doug barked
- In Peru - they parachuted from a plane
- At the Grand Canyon - they rode a disgruntled donkey
- In Italy - they leaned on the tower of Pisa
- In Florence - they saw the statue of David
- In Melbourne - they took a rattling tram to St. Kilda beach
- In Sydney - they spotted Kitty from Kathmandu as she was seeing the sights of the city...
They all wanted to fly in a hot air balloon over the harbour, but Doug told Pete there was only room in the basket for two and the balloon took off without him.
He watched it get smaller and smaller as it rode higher and higher into the sky. Pete felt very peeved and flew home!
Next day, Pete said he didn't want to be friends with Kitty or Doug...but he was soon to discover that having friends was good but sharing friends was great! Suddenly he finds out that Kitty and Doug are in danger! Their hot air balloon was stuck on a 'sail' of the Sydney Opera House. Kitty was meowing. Doug was howling.
Out of the blue a purple flying pig hovered overhead. It was Pete! He lowered Kitty and Doug safely to the ground and saved them. Kitty and Doug gave Pete a big hug. Pete hugged them back.
That afternoon they watched the sunset at Uluru. Tomorrow they'll sail down the Nile on a wild crocodile, or paddle a canoe with a grinning gnu - best friends forever!
