MAC O'BEASTY

Great for ages 2 to 11!  A rollicking, rhyming story about a big-eating, non-exercising monster.

Amazing full-colour illustrations by Heath McKenzie.

If you venture deep into Scotland you may find, sitting in his swamp on a bed of slime, a monster named Mac O'Beasty.  If you do find him, chances are he will be eating, because he really does eat a lot.  Nine meals of take-away food a day, in fact.  RAT BURGERS, DEEP-FRIED LOCH NESS, flies, donuts and more.

In between his many meals, Mac is a stellar bagpipe player, but what he really wants to do is dance with the other monsters.  There has to be someone, somewhere who can set Mac's life back in balance!

But who will that someone be?

*Here's a clue!

...then one day a monster passed by, so brightly coloured she caught Mac's eye, he even put down his creamy jam pie, to watch her skip along.
Her eyes were as blue as a blue heaven shake, hair as golden as a buttered sponge cake, lips as red as a candy-coated snake...but there was something else as well.

The monster had four arms, yes, it's true, she had two more than me, and two more than you, in each hand was a skipping rope so she could do Double-Dutch all by herself.

She skipped past Mac, then turned around, laid her skipping ropes on the ground, smiled for a moment, then she frowned, "YOU," she said, "NEED MY HELP."  "My name's Julie, I'm a personal trainer, I'll help you be a weight loser, not gainer, if you accept my offer I'll put you through pain or, your can stay there, but you'll die young."...
